So you heard CL’s new song The Baddest Female right? She looks amazing!
I really want pins like her! Shapely, toned and not too skinny! Body inspo!!! (erm not that I’ll ever work out though!)
But anyway I’m digressing a little.
Read my CL baddest female review
For the song itself, I’m really kind of ambivalent about it. It was over processed. I like a bit of electro but when there’s too much noise….it’s just noise. The song did not seem very fresh, new or inventive. It was a song that doesn’t really go anywhere.
It was also a bit CHEESY. ‘I’m bad…bad in the good way….you know? Sometimes it works, but sometimes when someone keeps saying how bad they are it’s like, well if you’re that bad do you really need to mention it all the time?
I’m actually a bit tired of all this swag business. What’s the attitude for? It just seems shallow and ostentatious. I don’t really care if you’re drenched in diamonds, have a mouthful of gold teeth, and you wanna dance in front of shiny sports cars. You’re not saying anything that interesting about being the Baddest female!
But then should I expect that kind of thing from YG? It’s just a song right?
I know she looks fierce but at the same time it just seems like kind of an empty statement to me. It is just visuals. That’s the disappointing thing.
Is this song even about the Baddest female? Is a bad (bad in a good way) kind a female someone who uses tears as a weapon and acts fake? At least that’s what the lyric translators are telling me. If that’s the case, I don’t want to be the baddest female.
Don’t get me wrong I like attitude when it’s done right! ‘I AM THE BEST’ anyone?
That said I did like some things! Such as the ‘DO THE UNNIE’ part. She could have made a whole catchy chorus out of that!!!! It could be a song that grows on me with more listens but right now I’m going to do the Unnie and leave that swag at the door.
