Wow! There’s nothing like receiving a bill from your domain company and
So where did I go?
Well, it wasn’t a conscious hiatus! As much as reviewing for brands is a wonderful opportunity, there were quite a lot of products to review in a short space of time! And as much as my face is wide, I only have a limited number of spaces for testing don’t you know?
So in that downtime, I started to enjoy beauty again for myself rather than chopping and changing every time something new came in to review.
I’ve also been whittling down my beauty stash to a manageable size. The only thing now is I need to start refusing things when my friends are destashing!
That-, well I am still working on that.
I’ve been hitting the books and studying Korean. I’m actually now into my second year!
Learning a language is VERY satisfying because you can see the progression. This time last year I barely knew anything and now I can read hangul at a reasonable-ish speed, my listening comprehension is getting slightly better and I can write paragraphs in hangul about my day! Ok, I’m not at the stage where I can write down my FEELS yet but I’m going to get there.
I really love LEARNING. I think having the ability to choose something to study because you are interested in it really makes a difference. So when I’m studying Korean in my spare time, it doesn’t really feel like work. Even if I’m getting a bit stressed about exams, I voluntarily did this to myself!!!
“I’m not creative enough”
As someone who graduated from art school, it seems like it’s my eternal struggle.
I really believe that things don’t just happen, you have first of all make the effort, make it a habit and to keep doing it until it becomes a part of you. Easier said than done right?
This year I decided I would make this goal VERY VERY SMALL. A tiny small space a day for SOMETHING to be drawn. Some days it is easy and fun and other days, I’d be lazy and
So I have two journals now. One of my
I never thought I was someone who could keep a daily sketchbook but now it really has become part of the day that I look forward to. It helps me wind down in the evening and gives me space for my thoughts when they have nowhere else to go. It’s perfect healing time!
I started taking an interest in taking care of plants! I’ve always wanted a room which was filled with all kinds of lush greenery.
But the thing that stopped me was that that I was very much a plant killer. Nothing survived – not even air plants and cactuses were spared.
I would usually tell people I’m terrible and I kill plants.
But actually was it just that I didn’t care enough about them?
Then I decided, “hey I can change that narrative! I AM A MASTER OF MY OWN PLANT DESTINY. I CAN CARE FOR PLANTS TOO.”
So here I am with a moisture measurer and plants are living for at least another day!
Yes, I’m still listening to Kpop. Yes, I’m still going to Kpop concerts! Since you last heard from me, I saw Super Junior a couple of times (omg), Hyolyn and BTS.
I am now a
So I did not finish Meteor Garden. I’m sorry for recommending it to you! However I have learned my ways, I won’t watch dramas as they air. So changing tact, I wait for dramas to finish. I check the reviews and ratings.
In this way, I discovered
It’s not a drama I thought I would be interested at all. The plot of pushy parents with overachieving kids does not sound like the most original plot.
However, it’s just shocking at how good this is, the script and acting. Every single detail is considered. It’s binge-worthy and it even made me forget to eat lunch (and whoa that is just crazy if you know me).
What dramas are you watching lately?
I’ll end this post abruptly here for now!
See you next year….
Just kidding 😉
