Well hello there!
I know, I know. It’s been a while since the last post so I thought I’d better do a brief (?) catch up. I’m in a rambly jet laggy mood so indulge me.
I caught the exhibition’ Perfume: A sensory journey through contemporary scent’ at Somerset House. It wasn’t what I was expecting. Although there were fragrances to smell, I thought there would be a bit more of an immersive nature to the actual installations surrounding them.
Selfie City Sketch
I got to have some lunch at bloggers paradise, Sketch London. The interiors of the place were jaw-droppingly gorgeous. The floor is all soft and mossy like forest and dappled light cascades down as if illuminated by the sun.
Sadly I’ve yet to be wowed by the food here (and on this occasion, I got the worst food poisoning ever) so I’d say come with low expectations but be dazzled by the interiors and the weird-shaped toilets.
What is this?
I had a jaunt in Tate modern and came across this new installation. It’s beyond the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen there!
Speaking of art, there seems to be a new gallery off Carnaby street! It’s a nice bright space and at the moment there’s an exhibition by Chinese artists happening.
I never ever thought I’d say I enjoy karaoke but I’ve been broken. Badly singing KPOP with a bunch of friends is great fun!
Other big things in September, I finally got to catch GDRAGON for his London stint of the motte world tour. OMG, what a show. He’s such a superstar. I will upload some fancams when I get the chance!
It was time to jet set off to Malaysia for a holiday!
On transit at Singapore, I managed to go crazy in duty-free. It’s only been these past two years where they’ve been stocking a lot of kbeauty!
I do approve. Naturally being a lot closer to other Asian countries, I got some great beauty hauls! Although I wouldn’t necessarily say it was cheaper than eBay – it was just NICE to be able to look a product more closely.
I was trying really hard not to buy sheet masks. I did buy the updated version of the Sulwhasoo overnight mask because it’s so good. I also really enjoyed using the trial version of the essential balancing emulsion so I bought a big bottle of that.
Other things I did in Malaysia….
Well a girl has gotta eat!
This is the restaurant CANTEEN which I really recommend for some great Malaysian food. I’m a huge fan of the curry with bread.
I don’t really like to lie around on a beach but I DO like to be beside the seaside. Checked into the Golden Sands Hotel at Batu Ferringhi for some relaxation and paddling!
Up the Hill
Took the funicular to the top of Penang Hill to take advantage of the slightly cooler climes.
Headed to Home!
Not many people understand why I keep going back to Malaysia, but falling back into their laid back way of life is very healing! There’s nothing like sitting in a kopitiam and sipping an ice lemon tea, absorbing the different languages, scents, sights and flavours
Somewhere in the middle of the trip…
I was super ecstatic to find out that I was accepted to be part of the Swanicoco review group which is called Swans 2. Swanicoco is a Korean skincare brand which I discovered is also stocked in the Malaysian Watsons (made many a trip there!). So do look forward to those reviews once I receive my box.
Did I mention I'm part of the swans2 project for swanicoco! I can't wait to see what they send me. I bought this swanicoco mask when I was out in Malaysia! So I'm going to try it out tonight!! #koreanskincare #skincare #skincareroutine #asianbeauty #abeauty #koreanbeauty #kbeauty #kbeautyblogger #skincareobsessed #kbeautyaddict #bblogger #abskincare #skincareaddict #skincarediary #abcommunity #koreancosmetics #beautycare #beautyaddict #blogger #beautyblogger #flatlay #bloggerlife #swanicoco #swans2
Taeyang in KL
Um, yeah so there was another concert.
Because my holiday was so well timed, I was able to go to Taeyang in KL. I’ll probably write a post about this as I think attending a concert abroad is really different from the UK. I tried to read reviews in preparation but couldn’t really find anything substantial.
As for the concert, I was really fortunate to win sound check tickets so I was able to experience seeing Taeyang up close and also have the breathing space seated for the rest of the show. I was really impressed with his performance. Even in the soundcheck where he might be giving about 75% of what he would normally do, it was still REALLY GOOD. He is the whole package.
I’ll probably wallow in post-holiday blues so expect loads of Malaysia posts. I’m also dealing with jet lag. It’s been about a week since I’ve been back but I’m already thinking about my next adventure….where to next?
