Like everyone else, I’ve joined the bandwagon and started watching Korean drama ‘W’. I have to say Korea really does modern fantasy so well! W is a romance which crosses from our world and the comic world. It sounds crazy but somehow the story just works. I’ve not seen something as original as this in AGES!
Part Romance, part suspense – every week I am being kept on my toes. I honestly couldn’t even guess what the story will end.
Since my netflix account has now decided to cooperate with my chromecast, I can now resume Netflixing to my hearts content. I stumbled on Stranger Things yesterday and decided to give it a go, solely on the basis that Winona Ryder was starring in it.
The story centers around the disappearance of a boy in an American small town in 1983. There are dark forces afoot and his family and friends are on the case to find him!
As you can see from the poster, it has a serious 80s vibe – from the fonts of the opening credits to the soundtrack. I found myself feeling like I was watching a million awesome 80s movies like ‘The Goonies’ and ‘Stand By Me.’
I didn’t know I that loved horror but I was so hooked onto the mystery that I couldn’t stop! The series is only 8 episodes so I gobbled them up in a day. It’s that good.
And yes, Winona is still awesome.
Following the completion of ‘Stranger Things,’ I wanted to watch another mystery drama so I’ve started watching ‘The Returned’.
A small town is left in a state of confusion, after many years, people from the dead are returning… very much alive.
It seems kind of slice of lifey in a weird way. I’m just watching the show as it flows from one episode to the other. I think it’s not so much the mystery at the moment, but watching the response of people who are dealing with the returnees coming back in their life.
Are there any new shows you are watching? Korean? American…this tv addict would love more recommendations!
