Before I try anything, I always check out the reviews on makeupalley.org to see what the most popular item is. I was on the look out for new cleanser because I really wanted to feel like my skin was totally free of makeup after a hard day’s work! The most popular cleanser turned out to be DHC’s Deep Cleansing Oil.
How to Use It
To use you pump one or two shots of the oil into your DRY hand and then on a DRY face, gently rub the oil in. After massaging it in, you can now wash it off. You’ll notice that the oil becomes a white colour. This is showing that the oil is emulsifying. I’m not 100% sure exactly what that means but. just go with it and wash it off.
I really felt like my skin was very clean. I swiped it over with a cotton wool to see if anything remained and it was all gone!
The first time I tried this I really did not like it because when I rubbed it over my eyes, it woud leave a film of oil over my eyes and make my vision a little blurry.
However I started to really like this as an eye makeup remover. There’s something about the action of swiping your eyes with a cotton wool. It doesn’t feel good for the skin or your eyelashes (my precious few!), but with the oil, you just gently rub it in and it comes off so well. This method is also a bonus for lazy girls who normally just jump in the shower without removing their make up first *coughsme*.
I really wanted to like this because my skin felt so clean but for the rest of my skin, particularly around my cheek area…..unfortunately I really felt like it was breaking me out. So I’m not using it as my main cleanser on my cheeks but I am using it as my lazy girl’s eye makeup remover! It’s fantastic at gentle removing waterproof mascara!
