Concealing with Etude House Big Cover Products
I’m fully recovered and back with the 3rd Etude House pink bird beauty box. This month it’s pretty much all about concealing as you can see from the promotional picture!
First up in my review is the Etude House Big Cover Cushion Concealer which is a puffy cushioned pen which helps to cover any blemishes or any flaws! A big plus is that it comes in SPF 30 which is fantastic as you don’t want your blemishes getting darker in the sun.
The Big cover cushion comes in 6 shades. 3 are skin colour tones and the rest, from what I can see are standard concealing colours. There’s even a green one! (I believe the green reduces the redness). As for me, I received a pink tone one.
Once you open the lid, it reveals a soft cushion which really reminds of Laneige’s cushion concealer. I did actually buy the Laneige cushion concealer because I was so excited about the cushiony tip. However I wasn’t particularly wowed by Laniege’s one.
So back to the BB Concealer cushion, I think it’s a fairly standard concealer! It does the job. There’s nothing that immediately jumps out for me as special but if you’ve never used a spongy concealer like this, you may like the applicator brush for its novelty factor! I still found that the brush isn’t enough to blend out properly and that I needed a blending brush to distribute the makeup more evenly!
So if the cushion concealer wasn’t enough for your concealing needs! We have the Big Cover concealer BB which is a large-ish glass bottle with a unscrew cap. When you unscrew it, you’ll find a multi-touch tip applicator at the end of it.

This certainly will give you a high coverage! I found I had to scrape the excess liquid on the brush ends so that the application wasn’t so heavy. I think the applicator is simply…an applicator for hygiene reasons. As per instruction, it’s better to dab out the concealer bb with fingers to create a more natural look.
Again, I would say it’s a standard concealing liquid with a thicker consistency. It works and covers well! In terms of lasting, I would say I pretty much sweat it all off by the end of the day. Certainly by lunch time, I noticed that it had disappeared and I only had bits of my powder still on my face. I would say this is best used for an evening out rather than the whole day!
I actually have some swatches and photos to show how it looks on my skin but my phone isn’t connecting to my computer at the moment. So I will come back to update this when it is working!
So let’s move onto the next item in my package.
To ring in the new year! I received LOOK AT MY EYES MONKEY WISH EYES.
It’s a collection of adorable eyeshadows which have been released to celebrate the year of the monkey!
Each little eyeshadow comes with an imprint of a cute monkey and affixed with a new year messages. The colours I received were BE109-Pay Day, PK013-Cheer Up, and GR707-Exam Passed!
The colours I received were BE109-Pay Day, PK013-Cheer Up, and GR707-Exam Passed!
They all look quite glittery in the palette but when I actually spread it on my skin, the sheen is really pretty and subtle, and it glides on oh-so smoothly.
PK013 is really great for highlighting under the eyes or the lids.
GR707 looks really green in the palette but after blending it is more of subtle brown colour. The shades are lot more natural looking and prettier once worn!
BE109 is also a really great highlighter or can be used as sheeny base.
I think these were my favourite items from this months box! Although they were the smallest items, they were a pleasant surprise.
So quit monkeying around and hop on over to Etude to check out them out!
