At the moment, I’m watching a lot of youtube. I didn’t want to do it. I was planning on a digital detox and somehow my conscious thought the better of it and rebelled. I resorted to installing a stay focus plug in my browser which I keep disabling because I am sneaky like that! I think I’ll just give into technology rather than fight it. Let’s face it, it is here to stay.
So here’s a list of youtubers who have totally ruined any chance of a digital detox.
In no particular order:
I hardly venture outside the world of beauty and lifestyle youtube channels but I somehow stumbled into Raymond’s channel. If you’re looking for someone who edits their films in a unique and beautiful way, watch this channel!
Sweet and Tasty Tv
I love watching Mina’s main channel and also her personal channel. She used to dress up as various characters and teach Korean. She doesn’t do that as much but I stick around because I enjoy her quirky sense of humour and happy go lucky attitude! She’s super funny and I particularly enjoy her travel vlogs.
Fancy Nancy TV
Nancy vlogs about her adventures in Korea. From getting laser eye surgery, teaching woes to temple stays or general rambles. Her videos are really relaxing and enjoyable and that’s thanks to her lovely down to earth nature and great sense of humour!
Somehow we have become internet buddies! If I’m short on a drama, I know I can get a good recommendation from her! (e.g. through her discovered the drama gem of the year, Age of Youth). Check out her channel here !
I just discovered her channel and have completely devoured most of her videos. She mainly posts about beauty products and through those I’ve already discovered a few new brands that I really want to try. I’m also really digging her fashion vlogs! She doesn’t post them as much but her style is on point!
I’m so glad she has a podcast because her voice is like fluffy marshmallows. If you’re looking for youtube channel that focuses on self-improvement, then lavendaire is your girl! I also like that she gives exposure to a lot of inspirational Asians who are creating their own path in life. I don’t think that is her main goal at all, but I think it’s a cool extra.
Incidentally, I’ve been wondering whether it is a coincidence that a lot of popular youtubers are Asian (or maybe it’s just the channels I’ve picked to watch). Either way I think youtube has been a really great platform which allows absolutely anyone to create a place of dialogue (said dialogue is sometimes useless but oh well).
That’s just a few of the YouTubers I’ve been enjoying! There are plenty more but I’ll leave it here for now.
Who else could ruin my digital detox? I’m already done for so you might as well let me know in the comments!
