Kdramas this July
I just got back from my holidays and I’m sitting here wondering where to start with all my posts! So I’m going to tell you what Kdramas I watched on the plane back home.
I started watching this before I left and I was immediately hooked! I loved Park Shin Hye’s badass character. It makes me realise how much I miss shows like Buffy The Vampire Slayer. At the moment, it doesn’t seem like she’s doing much physical kicking. I don’t know what that says about me.
Now that she’s a doctor, she is a bit more sensible!
*Spoilers for early episodes*
The only thing that irks me is that this romance started as a student/teacher thing. It really puts me off the male lead. Even though they didn’t physically do anything, he still developed feelings for her when she was at school. It’s just really…..unprofessional and more.
Of course when you are older and an adult, the age difference doesn’t matter. It’s just the fact that he was her teacher at the time and he definitely had feelings for her. There’s a line and he crossed it. Can’t respect him as a character and don’t find it cute.
So I’m not really watching this drama for the main romance. I am watching it for the amazing side characters! There is, of course, a second lead who is suffering from the second lead syndrome.
There’s also Ji Soo! I already said this on twitter but he is such a scene stealer. I loved him in Angry Mom and in this. He has this rebellious bad boy thing going on but at the same time seems a bit of a softie really. I can’t wait to see him as a male lead and see the type of roles he gets when he’s older.
Beautiful Gong Shim
I also started watching Beautiful Gong Shim with Minah! It’s a little slow going for me. I thought it would be a fluffy comedy and it kind of is, but there’s this whole other dramatic serious subplot which has become the main plot. It feels like the drama isn’t about Gong Shim anymore. It also seems like the writers are making this whole drama up as they go along.
At least for now (I’m up to episode 11 I think!) the focus is all on the male lead. Not sure if I’ll dive back in.
What dramas are you watching? Any to recommend?
