Kicho Sheep Oil Cream Review
The packaging asks ‘Do you know why sheep shearers have soft hands?’ I have to admit, I’ve never touched the hands of a sheep shearer so I didn’t even know it was thing.
So why Sheep Oil?
If you were wondering exactly where the oil comes from, it actually comes from the sheep skin! This oil, Lanolin, is the only oil which can be obtained without killing the animals. It says Lanolin is similar to the sebum we secrete from our own skin. I’m curious to see whether that makes my oily/combination skin more greasy!
The Kicho Sheep Oil cream is said to brighten and relieve the skin as well as moisturising it.
Kicho sourced this Lanolin from Germany and infused it with eight berries from around the world! These include sea buckthorn fruit, strawberry, blackberry, cranberry, blueberry, raspberry, acai palm and goji berry!
In terms of the bad things, it is free of artificial scents, t.e.a, mineral oil, isopropyl alcohol, parabens, urea, formaldehyde and heavy metals. Good to know!
The packaging is really different from what I was expecting since the sunscreen was so simple! The cream comes in a square glass tub with an intricately designed silver lid bursting with flowers.
One thing though, the box is so hard to open! I had to try shimmy it out. I’m not putting it back in its box again because it takes ages to open.
Testing it Out
I think sometimes when you imagine something you can start smelling it. So I started thinking about the smell of sheep when I was applying it. I could really imagine the smell of hay, sheep and farmyards.
Somehow it doesn’t really bother me because the cream is so lovely! It feels really smooth. It’s strangely light but yet thick. I wouldn’t say it’s greasy but it takes a little while to apply. So sometimes I like to apply this while my skin is slightly wet and mix it with other products so it’s easier to spread.
It leaves my skin feeling nourished and super baby soft! Although it’s winter, I think I don’t need to use a thicker cream yet and find this cream is the perfect for what I need right now! Something light but highly moisturising.
