I do sometimes leave the house! The other week, I went to the Saatchi Gallery to check out Mademoiselle Privé, a seriously beautiful exhibition exploring the history and vision of Chanel.
The queues outside for this was tremendous! It was snaking its way around the corner. I think I must have waited an hour outside just to see it (I was with a friend so luckily the wait didn’t feel so long!) I couldn’t quite believe it was a free exhibition.
Inside, we were taken on a journey encountering the spirit and key elements of Chanel!
The exhibition had a special app which would send you notifications as you passed certain parts of the gallery. I was always checking my phone to see what would pop up!
This was a Professor Bubbleworks-esque scent room dedicated to Chanel No.5. It was filled with giant pods which would open up from time to time.
Another room had this giant necklace spinning around inside this giant cage.
And of course, who could forget the gorgeous clothes?
Such fine details!
I believe this is Kirsten Stewart. I didn’t realise she promoted with Chanel. I always associate Keira Knightley with the brand. Well you learn something every day!
My favourite part of the exhibition were these sculptures. They were all symbolic motifs which are associated with Chanel.
My favourite was this statue called ‘Camelia.’ Apparently the flower was Coco Chanel’s favourite!
Unfortunately the exhibition has now closed! It really deserved a much longer run. Hopefully one day they might bring it back or tour it! Check out the official website here.
