Maxclinic Vitamin Oil Foam and White Cloud Embo Brush Review
Last up from this month’s BNT Beauty Box is Maxclinic Vitamin Oil Foam and White Cloud Embo Brush. When I pulled this out of the box I was so excited. Look how awesome it looks!
When I pulled this out of the box I was so excited. Look how awesome it looks!
I’ll start by reviewing the Maxclinic Vitamin Oil Foam! It comes in a thick plastic pump bottle. You can see the liquid looks blue-green with big beads in it. It looks really futuristic!
However, when you dispense it the liquid, it is actually a clear oil.
Here’s a closer look at the packaging. There are no English instructions on it, but you can see that it is an oil foam cleanser which brightens the skin.
What’s it made of?
The Maxclinic Vitamin Oil Foam is a blend of several oils which include jojoba, olive, coconut, argan, orange blossom, ylang ylang and damask rose. It makes it smell quite citrusy which I really like!
The oils give the effect of an oil massage. It then foams up to remove makeup and grime. It is also moisturising so it leaves your skin feeling really hydrated.
The capsules that you see inside the liquid are made of French clay (clay is excellent for smoothing and cleansing the skin). It’s also infused with Vitamin C, B, A and E!
Here’s how you use it
The oil feels really sticky, like honey, so it doesn’t spread very well without water. You are supposed to massage this into your skin but it makes it difficult to do so due to its stickiness.
I made the mistake like I do with all oil balm type cleansers, I thought it would remove my eye makeup. So I happily rubbed it into my eyes.
Guys, it really stings so don’t do that!
I was disappointed that I couldn’t use it as a makeup remover. Since that’s not possible, I can only use this in the mornings. I don’t actually cleanse in the mornings unless I feel a bit greasy so I feel like there’s not a lot of chances to use this.
Now here’s where I review the white cloud embo brush that it comes with.
It has the softest brush bristles ever. Literally, it feels like a cloud! Usually, I like to take photos before I use the products. I think products look nicer when they are brand new but I couldn’t wait!
It’s so soft. I have to wonder about where the hairs are from. I’m not expert on synthetic hairs so I can’t tell if they are real or not!?
Using the brush
On the back of the white cloud embo brush is a ribbed v-shaped pad for massaging. I ran it over my face a couple of times but I didn’t really have a particular technique so it felt a bit redundant. I’m not sure what I’m doing! I guess I’m boosting my circulation.
One of the great things about the brush is that it has a flat bottom at the base of the handle. This means that you can stand up the brush so it can air dry properly! Although with repeated daily use, it is never fully dry when I come to use it.
Once wet, the brush really helps to lather up the oil so it foams up well. It feels really nice and makes me think I really should be more gentle with my skin. However, I never feel like the foam completely comes off my skin since I can’t feel whether it’s washed off properly. I always end up using my hands to ensure it has all gone.
There are a lot of cool things happening with this product but not sure it’s something I want to use daily because there’s so much going on! It’s a fun product to use but I think in order to enjoy this fully, I need to think of this as a face wash rather than a makeup remover.
I also think maybe I need to practice using this more! I’ll be back to update if my thoughts change on this one.
ETA: BNT news sent me a cute video link which shows you how to use the brush and cleanser properly! It comes with English instructions so you can see how to foam it up. You also massage it afterwards (I kept using it before I wet my skin which just doesn’t work)
If you are curious, Maxclinic has an official site which you should check out here!
