Olens Jenith 3 Color Brown
Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of pretty yet natural looking circle lenses. I’ve been so curious to try them but the biggest obstacle to overcome was my phobia of sticking my finger in my eye
Fun fact of the day: I used to apply eyedrops with my eyes closed…go figure.
However, vanity eventually won over and I have successfully been able to try out the Olens Jenith 3 Color Brown lenses.
I thought they looked beautiful in the promotional pictures. They were dark but looked like they would create a more interesting contrast.
Where to buy and how much?
I managed to find the Olens Jenith 3 Color Brown lenses at the Olens store in Seoul. It’s a really popular store which can be found across the city.
If I remember correctly, the price was around £25 for the lenses. I think it was probably a bit expensive however I took into account that these lenses can be used for six months. So in actual fact it would cost me around £4/5 a month to wear, which I find reasonable.
Here’s what the bottle looks like!
How do they look?
Google tells me that these lenses have been used in SNSD videos. Sooyoung wore them in the Lion Heart MV.
You can see that they look so natural.
And apparently, Taeyeon also wore them in the video ‘Dear Santa.’ Although the hue of the video makes her eyes look more hazel. It’s hard to tell if they’re the same lenses.
Ok, that’s nice but how do they look on a normal person?
One normal person, coming up!
Now I have quite an extensive comparison collage to show you how the lenses look in different lights! There is a great variation. Perhaps that’s why it’s called a 3 color lens?
The ‘natural’ titled box is obviously my natural eye colour. It’s very dark so you can’t really see the pupils at all!
Box 1 – Wearing the lenses, it gives my eyes a warmer tone. I think this was taken with the bedside table light on! Although the Olens Jenith 3 Color Brown are slightly larger than the iris of my eye, it is not over the top. My family have yet to realise that I’m wearing lenses! So it’s really perfect for me because I want something that enhances naturally.
Box 2 – This is taken in natural light. The 3 colour flecked effect is really apparent and my eyes look a lot lighter. I think if you were aiming for the Seo Kang Joon effect (he has naturally light coloured eyes), then you could try these lenses.
Box 3 – By lamp light! When you look at them close up, it creates the effect of sunlight in my eyes.
Box 4 – Another daylight shot.
Box 5 – And yet another, daylight shot. I didn’t think the dark rim around the edge was that obvious in person. I’m not sure why it’s more obvious in this photo. I think this image looks closest to the promotional photo. However I really like the variety of ways the eyes can look, in that way I can never be bored with these lenses!.
As a non-contacts wearer, how was the experience?
I have to say putting them in at first was a bit tricky! But after some practice, it now takes no time at all. The only discomfort I felt was when I was wearing them inside out! And then another time, when I had been wearing the lenses for far too long! Rookies mistakes.
With this being one of my first forays into circle lenses, I have to say I’m really pleased with how the Olens Jenith 3 Color Brown look. I love that no one can tell I’m wearing the lenses and yet it really does subtly change the way my eyes look. I really want to try the 3 color grey look next! Watch this space…
