Makes Eyes at Pony Effect Seoul Conceptual Eyes Quad in Be Romantic
One of my things to buy from Seoul list was something from Pony Effect. Anything from Pony Effect! You take one look at Pony and you will just buy whatever she sells. I decided to buy and eyeshadow quad that had a bit of colour to it! ( I own way too many Naked palettes) So I chose #Be Romantic.
Where to buy Pony Effect in Seoul?
Good question! I didn’t know where I’d be able to get this but I stumbled on it in Lotte Youth Plaza (I basically lived there! It’s got all the brands you would want).
Pony Effect Seoul Conceptual Eyes Quad
The brand packaging is sleek, modern and it’s not super high end but I would say it’s slightly higher than road shop brands!
The compact is plastic but feels solid enough. I don’t think this will break on you. It also has a very satisfying magnetic closure so it will close securely with a pop!
One thing I was happily surprised about, is that Pony Effect products do not test on animals. I found this little bunny sign in the packaging. There is a law now that all Korean cosmetics must not be tested on animals by 2018 but it’s nice to see that Pony is ahead of the game!
As for the swatches for the Pony Effect Seoul Conceptual Eyes Quad, The shades for the ‘Be Romantic’ compact are beautiful. I’m a huge fan of the coral look.
There are four shades.
The colours all compliment each other so well so you can wear them in a number of combinations. At the moment, I really like to blend them all together.
Love Me – s a subtle silky gold shimmer with no glitter. It’s great as a base or a highlighter on the lids.
Roses – a matte coral which can be used as a color accent.
Moment – a silky shimmery warm copper tone which has slightly more dazzle than ‘Love Me’.
Doom (hmmm makes me think this romance is a tragedy!) – a matte red shade which is great for shading and deepening your eyes.
Opinion on the Pony Effect Seoul Conceptual Eyes Quad
Since my holidays, I’ve been using the Pony Effect Seoul Conceptual Eyes Quad daily! I want to up my eye makeup game so for this post, I took inspiration from this photo of Pony.
You can see how the eyeshadows look on my eyes! And hey, if you’re interested in monolid makeup maybe you get some ideas from these pictures.
The pigment is amazing and you can see by the photos. I would never have thought about wearing red eyeshadow but I love to use this warm colour on the lower lash line.
Unfortunately, I doubt the lasting power of the eyeshadows so you may need to use a primer to extend its use. The colour seems to disappear after a couple of hours.
ETA 21.09.16: I don’t think I was observant enough. I retract my comment about durability. In actual fact, the lasting power is pretty impressive! I put the eyeshadow on at about 8.00am and then after a day of hard work, the colour was still there at 19.30pm!
Monolid Makeup stuff
I was going to put some fake eyelashes on to finish but it gave me a triple eyelid. Sometimes I think keeping it simple is better so I didn’t end up looking like Pony, but somehow the look reminded me of Gdragon. Anyway, it’s a happy accident since I also like his makeup style!
You can order the Pony Effect Seoul Conceptual Eyes online from Gmarket.
