Back in the day when livejournal was all the rage, I used to be completely addicted to answering all kinds of memes. I decided I’d bring a little livejournal nostalgia back and do a blog posting challenge a ‘Song a day’. Not sure it’s going to be daily but each song post will have a theme!
Day 01 – My Favourite Song(s)
Well of course we have to start with the hardest one to answer. What is my favourite song? HOW CAN I POSSIBLY CHOOSE JUST ONE SONG? I have so many favourite songs for all kinds of different occasions at different points of my life.
So I’ve had a look at my iTunes to see what songs have survived my numerous clear outs! There are two songs that stand out are, both by the same band, the most fantabulous man band ever- Arashi!
The first song is Happiness.
I first heard it in the background of one of their variety shows. The melody got to me and I had to track it down so I could hear it in full! As you can tell from the title, it’s SO DAMN HAPPY and BOUNCY. It’s completely infectious and always puts me in a good mood when I hear it.
My other favourite is Kitto Daijoubu – which for some reason I hated when I first heard it. I couldn’t get used to Sho’s way of rapping, but then ONE DAY… I just couldn’t stop hitting it on repeat.
It’s a reassuring song with a message that even though there will be stormy times in your life, everything is going to be ok!
One of my most favourite memories ever is seeing both Happiness and Kitto Daijoubu performed live by Arashi in Tokyo Dome! It was such an adventure to get there, but of course if you have fangirl determination than anything is possible.
I wish I could share the official music video of Kitto Daijoubu because it’s seriously the best music video EVER. It’s got rainbows, fluffy clouds and sparkly glitter! What more could you ask for? Sadly their company have some major issues with streaming sites and don’t want any of their official videos up there.
Yes, I know! You thought I was a flaming KPOP fan through and through but before that it was all about Arashi! And although I don’t have a lot of time to catch up on their latest shenanigans, they will always have a special place in my heart!
If you’ve never seen Arashi in anything before, you seriously need to check them out. Extremely funny and dorky! Watch them perform their debut song blindfolded.
