If you’re looking to find a place in Seoul to get a feel of where the locals are, you can’t go wrong with Nandeamun Market.
Nandemun Market is the largest market you’ll find in Korea. It’s packed with loads of streets stalls and if you venture further inside, you will find little alleys filled with a plethora of shops selling clothes, food and all kinds of household knick knacks.
It didn’t feel quite like a tourist area but I’m sure there were plenty! A lot of the people looked like ajummas doing their daily shop!
I love the colours at every corner!
The streets are packed with people but if you take one random turn, you’ll find yourself in a warren of alleyways.
They sell literally anything you can imagine! Party anyone?
If you were looking to buy the silver Korean style cutlery then Nandaemun market is your best bet!
Or if you’re on the hunt for presents for your little ones, you can find some adorable hanboks!
One thing about Nandaemun market which surprised me was that there are a lot of little restaurants tucked away in dark alleys as well!
It was all quite overwhelming that we didn’t know where to go. You will find that the vendors will be calling out to you to come inside and eat at their place!
It was so hot inside. You could hear the sizzle of oil hitting the pans and feel the fire as you walked through.
We got ushered into a tiny restaurant! It was literally two views that you can see below.
I spotted a poster on the wall which showed that the guys from Infinity Challenge had visited the stall. Hey, if its good enough of Yoo Jae Suk!!!!
The food was absolutely amazing! The grilled fish, the jjiggae, fluffy white rice…. (I could do with one now to be honest!) It was SO GOOD.
There are also street food stalls in Nandaemun market but I was so full that I couldn’t fit any more into my mouth!
There’s always beauty
And of course being in Seoul, there are still your good ole beauty road shops! Nature Republic was having an amazing sale at the time! *sighs*. I need to go back!
