I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I’ve just about recovered. I ate a lot of food, crashed and then had a ten hour sleep. Good times!
Now as we’re winding down for the end of the year, I thought I’d give a rundown of all my favourites of the year. Today, I’ll chat about my top songs of the year!
12. BA1A4 – Sweet Girl.
I randomly discovered this song thanks to a notification from V APP which said that BA1A4 were doing a live concert! Normally I wouldn’t have watched for very long, but there was something about the wistful and romantic intro of this song that kept my attention. It is a KPOP song perfectly spliced with Saturday Night Fever.
I haven’t really spoken a lot about BA1A4. I really enjoyed their first album.
11. Minah – I am a Woman Too.
This is such an underrated song! It wasn’t what I was expecting since Minah is from the sunny happy clappy Girl’s Day but it suits her so perfectly. I just love her voice.
I saw her perform it on Yu Huiyeol’s Sketchbook and she sold the song to me.
10. Shinee – Married to the Music
Honestly is there anything Shinee can’t do? This was just PERFECT. The song, vocals, the choreography, the mv…oh it makes me furious that I’ve still not seen them LIVE. One day my friends, I will!
9. EXID – AH YEAH
Well I have to admit Ah Yeah is not especially groundbreaking but it’s a really decent follow-up to ‘Up and Down’. I feel like it’s the song that will satisfy all ‘Up and Down’ fans (and that includes me!)
8. Super Junior- Devil
Everything sounds retro to me this year but I don’t know what this song reminds me of! Does it take inspiration from a particular era? I’m not sure! It’s slick and smooth. A dependable song from Super Junior.
7. Bigbang – Bang Bang Bang
Bang bang bang is a funny song. The more you hear it, the more you grow to love it. I can tell just by listening to this that it is AMAZING LIVE. It’s the Fantastic Baby of the Made Series. It’s the song that’s going to get the crowd completely pumped in a live concert. Unfortunately, I can’t vouch for that because THEY NEVER CAME TO LONDON. Ahem….*composure* all in all, it’s a great concert song!
6. Sistar – Shake It
Sistar’s Shake It is not a belter of a song but it’s catchy and fun. Wish I could dance as well as them in heels.
5. Lion Heart – SNSD
As you know, I love the retro sounds. SNSD’s Lion Heart is no exception! It’s twinkly and cute.
4. Shinee – Your Number
This song kind of crept up on me! It’s Shinee’s Japanese release ‘Your Number’. Oh guys, why are you consistently so good?
A lot of Amber’s songs were in my most played! But I’ll pick ‘BEAUTIFUL’ because it showcases how beautiful her vocals are.
2. Donghae and Eunhyuk
Again, there were too many songs from D&E that were in my most played. Growing Pains was an amazing departure from Oppa Oppa!
I was also happy that they included a full version of 1+1=Love. I fell in love with the 30 second teaser that was released last year and then I saw them perform it once. I thought that was it! I’d never hear the song again. Listen to it in all its glory!
1. F(X) Four Walls
It’s kind of embarrassing how much I’ve listened to this song. It’s literally SHOVED a whole bunch of songs off my ‘kpop classics’ chart. An amazing song! It’s my number one for 2015.
Taeyeon – I – A slow and lovely rock song to warble on the mountains.
CN Blue – Cinderella – Classic CN Blue.
Madopsa – Hwangtaegi – Honestly I would LOVE to see this song performed live. Read my review here.
Let’s not fall in love and If You – Bigbang – I think these songs would have ranked higher but there was just so many new songs that these two go lost in my playlists.
I Feel You – Wondergirls – They had the best comeback teasers ever. I dug the whole new look and feel! Just super cool.
Ring My Bell – Girls’ Day – Didn’t initially care for this song but now I can’t get enough of it! It might come in my 2016 list instead.
I know I’ve probably missed a whole bunch of songs. What would make your list?
