Bulgarian Rose Moisture Essence
I understand there are about twelve million steps to the daily Korean skincare routine however I must admit, I don’t do it! Do you?
There’s one step in the routine that completely alludes me which is essence. I don’t know what it’s for and when I’m supposed to use it (after a while doesn’t everything seem to do the same thing?)
Curiosity got the better of me though and I found myself in possession of the Nature Republic Bulgarian Rose Moisture Essence.
What compelled me to buy this? Well, the bottle was pink and little.
Yes I am a simpleton!
After a quick google, I would say you can think of essence as a product which is like serum, but it has a lighter concentrate of properties. Essences/Serums are products which target specific problems. So in this instance, the Bulgarian rose is a hydrating essence for the skin which is used after you have cleansed and applied toner.
So what does the Nature Republic Bulgarian Rose Moisture Essence do?
- The rose water boosts the moisture in your skin,
- It comes in a gel form and absorbs easily into the skin.
- It smells like roses!
I have no idea what’s in the ingredients but if you can read Korean then you can check it out here!
Nature Republic Bulgarian Rose Moisture Essence has a pump dispenser. Once you express the pump, you can see that the essence is a clear gel.
The key highlight of this product is definitely the rose element. If you’re not a fan of perfumed products, then this will not be for you. The gel really smells like roses. I’m always a bit worried about putting something so fragranced on my skin but at the same time, I love things that smell good!
What’s the verdict?
I must have bought this about 5 months ago but I did not start using it regularly until the winter when the weather was harsh and my skin was dehydrated.
So far, my skin has been working well with this essence and I have had no adverse reactions. I can’t really say if it’s a miracle essence because I’ve been using a lot of moisture boosting products as of late. I do find it a pleasant product due to its rose smell and fast absorption! It’s nice to use as part of a self pampering session when I am in the mood.
I do feel that I would like to research more essences to see how this compares to others on the market. All in all this is a nice little product when you need a moisture boost but I don’t feel that it’s an essential part of my routine.
Now here is my artistic representation of the essence a.k.a me practising with a tablet pen!
Do you use essences in your routine? What do you recommend?
