Super Junior Mamacita
I’m not usually that up to date with KPOP! I’ll find out about a song 6 months after it is released and start loving it whilst everyone is already sick of it. This time I was actually ready and anticipating Super Junior’s comeback. So FINALLY Elfs rejoice, Super Junior (and leader Leeteuk!) strike back with Mamacita.
Review
For me the intro of the song has to grab me and this one certainly did. I wasn’t expecting it to sound so swingy (pardon me but I am rubbish at identifying genres). I absolutely love Khuhyun and Ryeowook’s vocals in this! I find they really LIFT the song. The rap is great, everyone is great!
As with most Super Junior songs, the chorus is SO EAR WORMY. It took just one listen and I already had the ‘AYA YA YA YA’ part stuck in my head.
I wonder if the odd English ‘JUST CLOSE YOUR LIPS SHUT YOUR TONGUE’ is something they actually put in there on purpose! I always like those parts because it’s like – how did that get into a song? I must use that somewhere in my daily life.
The MV is exactly what I want from a Super Junior video. It’s hilarious, stupid, shiny, shows off their dancing skills and also highlights what a bunch of talented dorks they are!
I do wonder how Sungmin survived promoting with that wig in his eyes the entire time?! He looks great but it would drive me nuts dancing in that thing!
Unfortunately Super Junior’s comeback lasted only a couple of weeks as they are now touring for Super Show 6! (I’m counting on there being a London show!!!)
